Ten Questions About the Browns Draft
1.Which of the following players will MOST help the Browns team win next year?
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Morris Claiborne D. Justin Blackmon E. Ryan Tannehill F. Michael Floyd G. Brandon Weeden
Rico: A. Richardson will see more touches than a wide receiver and his blocking ability will keep him on the field for almost all of the offensive plays
Scott: A. When healthy, the Browns were a totally different team with Peyton Hillis on the field. This guy is better than Peyton Hillis.
2. Which of the following players will MOST help the Browns offense next year?
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Justin Blackmon D. Ryan Tannehill E. Michael Floyd G. Brandon Weeden
Rico: D. Only if the Browns actually draft him that is. He needs a year under his belt but knowledge of the West Coast Offense is a big bonus. However, I'll go with G, because he is more likely to be drafted by the Browns.
Scott: A. See question one answer.
3. Assuming he is the starter, which of the following players will MOST help Colt McCoy next year?
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Justin Blackmon D. Michael Floyd
Rico: D. Floyd will wind up a better wide receiver than Blackmon and would need a year to digest the West Coast offense.
Scott: A. See question one answer.
4. Which of the following players is MOST likely to BUST in the NFL?
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Morris Claiborne D. Justin Blackmon E. Ryan Tannehill F. Michael Floyd G. Brandon Weeden
Rico: G. Only because he came from a no huddle spread offense, which will not only delay his adjustment to an NFL offense, but his age will become a serious factor when/if he does.
Scott: E. Quarterbacks have the highest likelihood of busting in the NFL, especially those that are taken high, and even more so for those that are overdrafted by a team reaching for the position. In my opinion, true draft busts are high picks that don’t pan out. Brandon Weeden will go much lower in the draft.
5. Which of the following players is MOST likely to be a PRO BOWL player in the NFL?
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Morris Claiborne D. Justin Blackmon E. Ryan Tannehill F. Michael Floyd G. Brandon Weeden
Rico: C. He cuts the field in half.
Scott: C.
6. Which of the following players is MOST likely to be drafted by Minnesota at three?
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Morris Claiborne D. Justin Blackmon
Rico: B. Ponder needs to be protected if he is to accomplish anything. He already has play makers.
Scott: B.
7. Which of the following is the Browns BEST off season move so far?
A. D’quell Jackson B. Frostee Rucker C. Dimitri Patterson D. Phil Dawson E. Juqua Parker
Rico: A. No question about it.
Scott: A. I think he is overrated and overpaid, but the Browns could ill afford to lose him.
8. Which of the following is the Browns BIGGEST off season disappointment so far?
A. The RG3 trade B. Not landing Matt Flynn C. Losing Peyton Hillis D. Losing Mike Adams E. Releasing Eric Steinbach F. Releasing Tony Pashos G. lack of free agent activity
Rico: G. There were plenty of upgrades out there that wouldn’t have broken the bank. It’s their job as a front office to convince them to sign here.
Scott: G. Far too many opportunities to improve on the free agent market to simply ignore.
9. Which of the following will be the BEST career at Quarterback in the NFL?
A. Andrew Luck B. RG3 C. Ryan Tannehill D. Brandon Weeden E. Matt Flynn F. Colt McCoy
Rico: C. Assuming he is drafted by Miami, Tannehill will be playing an offense that he already knows and his Offensive Coordinator will be his former college head coach.
Scott: A. This is tough, but I’ll go with Andrew Luck. He is coming into a rebuilding situation in Indy, but he comes NFL ready & from and NFL family. Sounds like another guy who used to play there.
10. Which of the following is the Browns BIGGEST position of need?
A. QB B. WR C. RT D. RB E. CB F. LB
Rico: A. QB
Scott: B. Colt isn’t going to the Hall of Fame or even the Pro Bowl, but at times, he has made plays and isn’t completely incompetent out there (we’ve seen much worse at QB in Cleveland). I know that isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement, but in my opinion the weakest area of the team is the wide receiver corp by a hair over our stable of quarterbacks.
A. Trent Richardson B. Matt Kalil C. Morris Claiborne D. Justin Blackmon E. Ryan Tannehill F. Michael Floyd G. Brandon Weeden
